Privacy
Short version: we keep what we need to run your account and your saved simulations, and nothing else.
Your account
Accounts use Firebase Authentication (Google). It stores your email address and handles sign-in, email verification and password resets. We never see or store your password. If you tick “Remember my email,” your email address is saved in that browser.
Your simulations and settings
When you run a simulation, the game, run count and any custom settings are sent to the Mel’s Playbook engine along with a sign-in token that confirms your account. The engine does not keep your runs; it only saves its own default-setting predictions, which are used to grade and retrain the models.
Recent simulations, your custom model settings and your saved predictions are kept in your browser. Once your email is verified, they are also backed up to your account in Firebase so you can pick up on another device. Only you can read your backup. We keep up to 50 recent runs and 2,000 saved predictions.
Clearing the recent list does not delete your saved predictions. Clearing your browser’s site data removes the local copy; the account backup stays until you ask us to delete it.
Settings you submit for review
If you choose “Submit these settings for review,” we receive the league, model version and settings you picked. Submissions are never posted publicly. We test them on future games before changing anything in the default model.
Sports data
Schedules and team stats are loaded straight from ESPN by your browser. ESPN receives the usual connection details, like your IP address and browser type.
Messages
If you email us, we use your name, address and message only to reply.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data.
- We don’t run advertising or third-party trackers on this site.
